Winter to Spring
When thinking about what to do for the documentary project I knew I wanted to take all my pictures outside. That being said, I realized that it was the perfect opportunity to document the changing weather. Also, since the change from Winter to Spring is so dramatic I knew you would be able to see the change very clearly between photographs.
Fresh Blanket of Snow
This was one the first picture I took once the project was assigned. I was able to get up early enough to take a picture of the snow before it was messed up. This picture is cold a crisp and shows very clearly what winter looks like and feels like.
The Meltdown Begins
I took this picture on the first warm day of the year. There was still snow outside but it was melting very quickly. This shows the crazy weather we had this year and how it could be so warm out and still have huge piles of melting snow all over.
Fighting off the Cold
I took this picture the morning after that late winter snow fall. Most of the snow was melted by the time I woke up but I found this flower in the shadows behind a building, trying to fight off the cold. I really like the contrast between the bright spring colors and the white of the snow.
Waiting on that Spring Warmth
This picture documents the constant changing weather during the transition from Winter to Spring. One day it could be warm and sunny and the next it could be cool and cloudy like in this picture. Soon enough these trees will be in full bloom and the skies will be cloud free.
Trees in Blossom
This picture shows the very beginning of the spring season. All of the snow has melted and the trees are just beginning to bloom. You can tell that this picture is already much warmer than the original pictures.
Padua Beach is Alive
April Showers...
This picture does a great job of showing how the rainy days here at Siena. Although is is rainy and cloudy you can see the the grass is green and vibrant and the trees are in full bloom. Also the contrast between the flowers and the sky provides a beautiful focal point for the picture.
…Brings May Flowers
Although the rain makes everyone miserable, without it we wouldn't have pictures like this. This photo shows the bush in full bloom surrounded by vibrant green grass. This picture was taken on a very warm and sunny day and I think that the picture shows that.
This is a really cool idea to document! I always see the difference of the change the day of because the mood of the campus changes. However, this captures that change and I really like it! Great job!
